Abstract:

In this presentation, I will present research in two key areas connecting cognitive neuroscience, neurobiology, and cutting-edge computational techniques to advance our understanding of psychotic disorders and enhance patient care. Firstly, I will delve into cognitive neuroscience and neurobiology, employing EEG, MRI, and cognitive assessments to deepen our understanding of psychotic disorders and patient recovery trajectories. I will present studies include investigating cognitive and neurobiological markers in first episode psychosis patients, as well as longitudinal changes in hippocampal regions across schizophrenia and Bipolar disorder. Secondly, leveraging ML and NLP techniques, I will describe projects using electronic health records to identify trauma history in psychotic disorder patients and to extracting temporal information from EHR data to predict readmission risk.
